Instinctive Arabic Calligraphy (Work in Progress)
I was born in Lebanon and learned how to speak and write Arabic quite early. I was always fascinated by Arabic calligraphy, its elegance and I regret not seeing more graphic designs using Arabic, as this language, on top of being splendid to hear, has an enormous visual potential. I tried to emulate Arabic calligraphy as I haven't learned (yet!) how to do it the classical way. These are exercices with random words or with a part of the poem "Heart of a Mother" by Ibrahim bin Manzar, the first poem I memorised back in the day, to acquaint myself again with the arabic alphabet and researching drawing/writing gestures.
